Project Roman Bust restauration

This project will show you how do I repaint a roman bust.
I will do that step by step and with as much pictures as possible. The original one has to sharp highlights and shadows. Further the color of the skin looks very unrealistic. I will try here a new technique I am thinking about.

Requirements: Airbrush, Paint, tape

This is the original condition of the bust. You can see the sharp highlights and shadows.

Second look at the bust more toward the side.

First step: Remove the head and tape him.

I will only repaint the head. Maybe the torso will follow later in an other project. Everything what ist helmet is taped. I only had clear one. But it will work too.

Second Step: Coating the head

I simply sprayed a coat of primer over the face. The old color was thin enough and shows all details very good. For coat I use primer from the home improvement store. Its original for outside priming. It dryes very fast and built a good hard surface.

Thirs Step: Flesh coat

I simply sprayed a coat of flesh over the face. this will be the base for the preshadding colors.
